MOLECULAR DIVERSITY OF COMMON WHEAT INTROGRESSION LINES (T. AESTIVUM / T. TIMOPHEEVII)

open access: yesВавиловский журнал генетики и селекции, 2015
Genetic diversity of T. aestivum/T. timopheevii introgression lines was studied with regard to microsatellite loci and resistance to fungal diseases. Genotyping of hybrid lines and parental common wheat cultivars for 143 SSR markers revealed 521 and 440 ...

Covalent drug discovery: Progress against key targets, emerging strategies and lessons learnt

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Covalent drug discovery is currently experiencing a boom in industrial and academic interest. To date, at least 75 covalent drugs have received regulatory approval, targeting both traditional target classes and more challenging proteins for which other approaches failed. In many cases, unique aspects of covalent targeting are essential for the

Aegilops tauschii Accessions with Geographically Diverse Origin Show Differences in Chromosome Organization and Polymorphism of Molecular Markers Linked to Leaf Rust and Powdery Mildew Resistance Genes

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2017
Aegilops tauschii (2n = 2x = 14) is a diploid wild species which is reported as a donor of the D-genome of cultivated bread wheat. The main goal of this study was to examine the differences and similarities in chromosomes organization among accessions of

Gasdermin‐Mediated Pyroptosis: Novel Strategies Against Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Pyroptosis is a double‐edged sword in colorectal cancer (CRC): chronic low‐grade pyroptosis promotes tumor progression, whereas acute induction of pyroptosis in cancer cells triggers antitumor immunity and enhances therapeutic response. Targeting gasdermin‐mediated pyroptosis represents a promising strategy for CRC treatment.

Little Evidence of Antagonistic Selection in the Evolutionary Strata of Fungal Mating-Type Chromosomes (Microbotryum lychnidis-dioicae)

open access: yesG3: Genes, Genomes, Genetics, 2019
Recombination suppression on sex chromosomes often extends in a stepwise manner, generating evolutionary strata of differentiation between sex chromosomes.

Regional Standardization of CLL Management: Results of a Delphi Consensus Process

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The therapeutic landscape of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) has been profoundly transformed by the introduction of Bruton tyrosine kinase and BCL‐2 inhibitors. Despite improved survival outcomes, treatment selection remains complex, particularly in older patients with comorbidities, frailty, and increased infectious vulnerability.

Targeting the microbiota‐miRNA‐protease axis: A new therapeutic avenue in melanoma

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Modulation of extracellular matrix (ECM) turnover is central to melanoma progression and metastasis, driven largely by ECM proteases. This review highlights the epigenetic regulation of ECM proteases by microRNAs and their roles in melanoma growth, invasion, and immune modulation.

Reference-free identification and pangenome analysis of accessory chromosomes in a major fungal plant pathogen

open access: yesNAR Genomics and Bioinformatics
Abstract Accessory chromosomes, found in some but not all individuals of a species, play an important role in pathogenicity and host specificity in fungal plant pathogens. However, their variability complicates reference-based analysis, especially when these chromosomes are missing in the reference genome.

Divergent roles of ent‐kaurene oxidase paralogs in rice momilactone biosynthesis

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
Rice contains a five‐gene tandem array of genes encoding members of the ent‐kaurene oxidase (KO) family, with OsKOL4 and OsKOL5 playing divergent roles in momilactone metabolism, but both acting in the production of antifungal and antibacterial phytoalexins, which are important for disease resistance.
