Enzyme histochemistry of chronic atrophic gastritis
The American Journal of Digestive Diseases, 1968In early chronic atrophic gastritis there appear patches of altered surface epithelium having the morphologic and histochemical characteristics of a regenerating mucosa. This suggests that prior injury to the neck and crypt areas of the normal gastric surface epithelium may have pathogenetic significance in the onset of this disease.

Impaired skeletal health in patients with chronic atrophic gastritis
Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, 2016In chronic atrophic gastritis (CAG), destruction of gastric parietal cells causes anacidity and hypergastrinemia. Use of proton pump inhibitors, which also induces gastric anacidity, is associated with increased fracture rates. Our objectives were to study possible differences in bone mineral density (BMD) and bone quality in patients with CAG compared

Helicobacter pylori an chronic atrophic gastritis.
Journal of gastroenterology, 1994Phenol red dye spraying endoscopy, in addition to a biopsy study, was employed for the determination of Helicobacter pylori distribution on the gastric mucosa of 108 patients with no gross gastric findings. The sensitivity of this method was 100%, and its specificity was 84.6%.

[Chronic atrophic gastritis and the risk of cancer].
Minerva chirurgica, 1991Chronic gastritis, which is frequent in subjects over 50 years old, is caused by the concurrence of predisposing and congenital conditions and exogenous harmful factors, in particular foods. In etiopathogenetic terms it is worth considering autoimmune diseases and duodenogastric back-flow separately.

CHRONIC ATROPHIC GASTRITIS AND CANCER OF THE STOMACH
Archives of Surgery, 1943The question of the etiologic importance of chronic atrophic gastritis to gastric cancer has been the subject of numerous studies during the past few decades. The association of gastric atrophy with various types of chronic disease has been known for many years. One of the early contributors to the subject, seldom cited today, is Samuel Fenwick.
