Evaluation of H.pylori infection and IL23R gene polymorphism in dyspeptic subjects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
CagA strains of H.pylori (Hp) are known to be associated with gastroduodenal diseases. Polymorphisms in inflammation related genes, such as cytokines and their receptors, were thought to partly determine the outcome of Hp infection and the progression of

Trajectories of hospital‐presenting alcohol‐related disorders between early and late adulthood: Exploring the role of mortality in a prospective study of a 1953 cohort

open access: yesAddiction, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and aims Alcohol‐related disorders (ARDs) are associated with severe attributable harms that evolve throughout the life course, comprising distinct trajectories. Yet, how mortality affects the identification, shape and number of trajectory groups remains poorly understood.

Antimicrobial prescribing guidelines for horses in Australia

open access: yesAustralian Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
The growing problem of antimicrobial resistance also affects equine veterinarians with increasing frequency. Antimicrobial stewardship and responsible prescribing are essential for a future in which effective antimicrobials are available, as it is unlikely that new antimicrobials will become available for use in horses.

Insights into the clinical, platelet and genetic landscape of inherited thrombocytopenia with malignancy risk

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
Inherited thrombocytopenia (IT) caused by germline variants in RUNX1, ETV6 or ANKRD26 carries a high risk of developing haematological malignancy. This study examined the clinical, platelet and molecular characteristics of 66 patients with these conditions, who carried 24 distinct genetic variants in the corresponding genes.

Treatment options for immune‐related adverse events associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.

Efficacy and safety of oral semaglutide in Chinese participants with type 2 diabetes: Subgroup analyses by baseline characteristics in the PIONEER 11 and 12 randomised controlled trials

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims This post hoc analysis investigates the impact of baseline characteristics on the efficacy and safety of oral semaglutide in a Chinese population with type 2 diabetes. Materials and Methods Chinese participants from the PIONEER 11 and 12 trials with type 2 diabetes aged ≥18 years were randomised to once‐daily oral semaglutide 3, 7, or 14 ...
