Chronic persistent hepatitis (CPH) and chronic lobular hepatitis belong to the clinicopathologic spectrum of chronic hepatitis. Both have a benign connotation in the sense that they do not progress, by definition, to serious forms of chronic liver diseases, e.g., chronic active hepatitis and cirrhosis.
