Chronic obstructive sialadenitis

Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1971
Abstract Conservative treatment of sialodochitis and ductal perforation is described. In this particular case, sialograms showed areas of stenosis in the right Wharton's duct near the gland hilus and an extravasation phenomenon caused by ductal perforation at the point where the duct curved over the posterior border of the mylohyoid muscle.

Chronic sialadenitis

Virchows Archiv A Pathological Anatomy and Histopathology, 1987
The cellular changes in salivary gland parenchyma with chronic inflammation were studied immunocytochemically with a panel of antibodies. Myoepithelial cells were labelled with antimyosin, duct cells with a polyclonal anti-callus prekeratin, a monoclonal anti-keratin CAM 5.2 and a monoclonal anti-keratin 7 (RPN 1162), and a subpopulation of basal duct ...

Parotidectomy in the treatment of chronic sialadenitis

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1961
Abstract A series of twenty-nine cases is presented in which thirty parotidectomies were performed for recurrent chronic sialadenitis. The results during the follow-up period have been excellent, except in one case in which subtotal parotidectomy had been performed and a recurrence developed five months later.

Subtotal Parotidectomy in the Treatment of Chronic Sialadenitis

Annals of Plastic Surgery, 1983
Chronic recurrent parotitis can be disabling, and often requires surgery for its resolution. Twenty-one patients with chronic sialadenitis treated by subtotal parotidectomy were studied. Two patients developed transient and one significant postoperative recurrent parotitis, and two patients had salivary fistulas.
