PARASITÓIDES GREGÁRIOS COLETADOS EM CHRYSOMYA ALBICEPS (WIEDEMANN) (DIPTERA: CALLIPHORIDAE) NO BRASIL

open access: yesArquivos do Instituto Biológico, 2004

First records of Diptera associated with human corpses in Ecuador [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Flies in the order Diptera are of forensic value because many species leave tractable evidence while harvesting nutrients from decomposing corpses. From December 2015 to January 2017, 41 fly specimens were collected in human bodies at crime scenes and ...

Species composition and seasonal succession of saprophagous calliphorids in a rural area of Córdoba: Argentina

open access: yesBiological Research, 2007
During 2004, four experiments were carried out, one each season, in order to determine the species composition and seasonal dynamics of Calliphoridae in a rural area of Córdoba (Argentina). Two pigs (Sus seroja L.), weighing approximately 8 Kg each, were

Unidirectional dispersal of blow fly larvae following decomposition fluids from a pig carcass

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Science
The decomposition of a body, and the associated gaseous and liquid discharges emanating from it, attract gravid female blow flies which lay their eggs in or on the body. After the eggs have hatched, the emerging larvae start feeding on the body.

Distribution, Dna Barcoding And Phylogenetics Of Caribbean Calliphoridae Flies: Tools For Forensic Studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Blow flies (Diptera: Calliphoridae) are among the most dominant and conspicuous insects in the decomposition process. They are important in forensic entomology to determine time of death and, in certain situations, cause of death or relocation of a body.

First Report and Phylogenetic Analysis of Mitochondrial Genomes of Chrysomya villeneuvi and Sarcophaga genuforceps

open access: yesInsects
The mitochondrial genome, highly conserved across species, is crucial for species identification, phylogenetic analysis, and evolutionary research. Chrysomya villeneuvi and Sarcophaga genuforceps, two species with significant forensic value, have been ...
