Lung content analysis of cases occupationally exposed to chrysotile asbestos.

open access: yes, 1994
The lung contents of six workers who had been occupationally exposed to chrysotile asbestos were examined. Five were lung cancer cases from Quebec, Canada. The sixth, an American worker who had developed pleural mesothelioma, was particularly interesting,

Adsorption of human serum albumin on the chrysotile surface: a molecular dynamics and spectroscopic investigation

open access: yes, 2008
The human serum albumin (HSA) secondary structure modifications induced by the chrysotile surface have been investigated via computational molecular dynamics (MD) and experimental infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) on synthetic chrysotile nanocrystals coated ...

Characterization of Saccharomyces cerevisiae immobilized onto chrysotile for ethanol production

open access: yes, 2015
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (CCT(-)3174 and commercial baker's yeast) was immobilized by adsorption onto chrysotile. The adsorbed yeast cells were easily washed out, but cells grown in situ were strongly attached by entrapment by chrysotile microfibres.

Gay Robert, Reynaud R.

The Carcinogenicity of Chrysotile Asbestos. A Review.

open access: yesINDUSTRIAL HEALTH, 2001
The world production of asbestos has been declining dramatically in recent years, particularly in Europe and the United States. However, increases have occurred in Asian nations and chrysotile is the dominant fiber used. Important uses are in cement products, wallboards, friction products and textiles.

Investigation of micronucleus frequencies in lymphocytes of inhabitants environmentally exposed to chrysotile asbestos

open access: yes, 2007
Exposure to asbestos minerals has been associated with a wide variety of adverse health effects including lung cancer, pleural mesothelioma, and cancer of other organs. Many of the regions of Turkey have asbestos deposits.

Réactivité superficielle de l'amiante chrysotile

open access: yes, 1996
La présente étude se veut une contribution à la compréhension de la réactivité superficielle du chrysotile en contact avec un milieu aqueux. Étant donné la complexité chimique que présentent les minéraux naturels, et la diversité des phénomènes en jeu ...
