New distributional records for bats of the Argentine Patagonia and the southernmost known record for a molossid bat in the world [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We add new localities to the distribution of bats of the families Molossidae and Vespertilionidae in south- ern Argentina. We report the southernmost known record for any bat species of the family Molossidae in the world, which corresponds to a locality ...

Beetle mania: Understanding pond aquatic beetles diversity patterns through a multiple-facet approach

open access: yesHeliyon, 2023
Ecological studies searching for drivers of biodiversity variation have frequently focused on taxonomic richness. However, more aspects of biodiversity, namely diversity facets can be considered to properly assess biotic-environment relationships.

Early angiosperm fossil leaves in Chubut Group, Cretaceous, Argentina [PDF]

open access: yesThe Paleontological Society Special Publications, 1992
The oldest angiosperm leaves from Patagonia were reported from Baquero Formation (Barremian-Aptian) in a mesofitic flora of more than one hundred gymnosperm and fern species. The next younger records are from the Chubut Group, a thick assemblage of pyroclastic sediments, with sand and conglomerate facies and frequent paleosols.

Development of a site fidelity index based on population capture-recapture data [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ, 2018
Background Site fidelity is considered as an animal’s tendency to return to a previously occupied place; this is a component of animal behaviour that allows us to understand movement patterns and aspects related to the animal’s life history.

Recruitment patterns in four species of Physaria (Brassicaceae): implications for maintenance of population density over time in both native and cultivated stands

open access: yesEcología Austral, 2016
Seedling recruitment is a critical stage of a plant’s cycle which determines population viability, the potential for invasiveness of a plant species and the success of establishment of a crop, among other processes.
