Dinosaur remains from the Lower Cretaceous of the Chubut Group, Argentina

Abstract Some fragmentary dinosaur remains from the uppermost Hauterivian–Barremian La Paloma Member of the Cerro Barcino Formation of northern Chubut, Argentina are described. Together with the fauna from the La Amarga Formation of Neuquen, Argentina, this material represent the oldest known Cretaceous dinosaur fauna from South America.

A new lizard species of the Liolaemus kingii group (Squamata: Liolaemidae) from northwestern Chubut province (Argentina)

We describe Liolaemus attenboroughi sp. nov., a lizard distributed in the northwestern Patagonian Steppe of Chubut province (Argentina) previously confused with L. kingii (Bell 1843). Recent studies based on molecular evidence supports its evolutionary independence.

Abstract The Golfo San Jorge Basin is one of the most important hydrocarbon-bearing basins of Argentina. Its position in the distal Patagonian Broken Foreland confers a particular structural architecture. Specifically, the western margin was affected by positive tectonic inversion, with higher degrees of inversion at the San Bernardo Fold Belt (SBFB).
