Exploring natural sunscreens: UVB protection and antioxidant properties in gadusol‐rich fish roes extracts

Photochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Gadusol‐rich extracts provide effective UVB protection and antioxidant activity in HaCaT cells and C. elegans, highlighting their potential as natural photochemoprotective agents for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications. It also demonstrates remarkable in vitro antioxidant capacity and thermal stability over time.

Abstract The increasing incidence of skin cancer, including melanoma, combined with the need for ultraviolet (UV) filters that are safe for human health and marine ecosystems, is driving the search for new photoprotective agents.

A dynamic epigenetic perspective on above‐ and belowground phenotypic responses to drought: Insights from global DNA methylation in Erodium cicutarium

Our factorial experimental design investigates the relationships between DNA methylation, plant development and individual fitness under stress in Erodium cicutarium. We found that epigenetic modifications associated to 5‐azacytidine seed treatment desynchronized plant growth and delayed flowering.
