Sexual Dimorphism in Fin Size and Shape in North American Killifish
Sexual dimorphism is pervasive in North American killifish in the size and shape of their dorsal and anal fins. These fins perform multiple functions, including grasping females during spawning, dominance displays towards rival males, and courtship towards females. Sexual selection may share a common direction across this group.

ABSTRACT Despite substantial reductions in the cost of sequencing over the last decade, genetic panels remain relevant due to their cost‐effectiveness and flexibility across a variety of sample types. In particular, single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) panels are increasingly favoured for conservation applications.

Demonstrating the Theory of Ecological Speciation in Cichlids
The geological history of Africa’s Lake Victoria, the second largest freshwater lake in the world, provided the raw materials for investigating one of the most compelling hypotheses for the origin of species: ecological speciation. After drying out three times over its 400,000-year history, the lake refilled about 15,000 years ago, and the few cichlid ...

We investigate how non‐native species can impact native species in a 30‐year time scale by estimating the co‐occurrence between native and non‐native species pairs. We show that interannual variability of non‐native species abundance could be more important than long‐term abundance trends in determining the effects of non‐native species through time ...
