Effective Acne Detection using Component Image a* of CIE L*a*b* Color Space

Journal of Digital Contents Society, 2018

Color Image Encryption in CIE L*a*b* Space

2015
To protect the contents of images in the mobile internet era during image storage and transmission, image encryption has achieved a tremendous success during the last decades. Currently, little attention has been paid to non-RGB color spaces such as HSV, YUV and L*a*b* color spaces in the color image encryption community.

Crop segmentation from images by morphology modeling in the CIE L*a*b* color space

Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, 2013
Crop segmentation from the images taken in the outdoor fields is a complex task. In this paper, a new morphology modeling method is utilized to establish the crop color model in the CIE L^*a^*b^* (or Lab for simplification) color space and to realize the crop image segmentation.

Conversion of Munsell color coordinates to Cie-L*a*b* system: Tables and calculation examples

Moscow University Soil Science Bulletin, 2016
The widely used Munsell optical system is unsuitable for the statistical treatment of data for assessing the role of pigments in soil color. The CIE-L*a*b* system is more efficient for this purpose. This article contains a table for converting data on soil color from one scale to the other based on the example of oxisols (Brazil) and pale (Yakutia) and

A simple method to estimate CIE‐L*a*b* values of the skin from its videomicroscopic image

Skin Research and Technology, 1997
Background/aims:The C I E (Commission Internationale de I'Eclairage)‐L*a*b* is the most popular standardized color system. The purpose of this study was to develop a simple method for estimating C I E‐L*a*b* values of the skin using a video microscope and a computer. Methods:Skin images were obtained with a video microscope of various anatomical ...

Conversion of soil color parameters from the Munsell system to the CIE-L*a*b* system

Eurasian Soil Science, 2015
The Munsell optical system is unsuitable for assessing the role of pigments in the color of soils by statistical methods. Empirical approaches to the transformation of the Munsell system have been proposed only for a limited range of color tones; they do not ensure the exact calculation of correlative relationships between pigments and soil colors.

Neural Network based on GLCM, and CIE L*a*b* Color Space to Classify Tomatoes Maturity

2019 International Seminar on Application for Technology of Information and Communication (iSemantic), 2019
Tomato (Lycopersicum commune) is one of the fruits that can be consumed directly or processed into food or drinks. In the harvesting season, tomatoes will be picked and sorted into different class depending on its size, shape, and color. The quality and the taste of tomatoes fruit depends on the maturity level of this fruit.

Analysis of colorimetry using the CIE-L*a*b* system and the photocatalytic activity of photochromic films

Materials Research Bulletin, 2018
Abstract This work aims to explain how oxide films are correlated when exposed to UV-A radiation, due to the occurrence of similar phenomena. Thus, thin films of TiO 2 and TiO2 doped with H2WO4 or Na2WO4·2H2 O were made by spin-coating , heat treated between 650 and 800 °C and evaluated for their optical and photocatalytic properties. The

The fabric defect detection based on CIE L*a*b* color space using 2-D Gabor filter

The Journal of The Textile Institute, 2015
A detection algorithm based on CIE L*a*b* color space is proposed to detect various colorful fabric defects more accurately and avoid the error detection resulted from losing image information of graying. CIE L*a*b* color space is transformed from XYZ space via nonlinear transformation of RGB space.

Study on Color Space Conversion between CMYK and CIE L*a*b* Based on Generalized Regression Neural Network

2008 International Conference on Computer Science and Software Engineering, 2008
The forward and reverse color space conversion models between CMYK and CIE L*a*b* based on Generalized Regression Neural Network are built by using the offset printing normal data of the ECI2002 standard color target. Then the accuracy of the models is tested. The result shows it is an efficient method to build the color space conversion between L*a*b*
