Colour Association with Music Is Mediated by Emotion: Evidence from an Experiment Using a CIE Lab Interface and Interviews [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Crossmodal associations may arise at neurological, perceptual, cognitive, or emotional levels of brain processing. Higher-level modal correspondences between musical timbre and visual colour have been previously investigated, though with limited sets of ...

Color Enhancement for Four-Component Decomposed Polarimetric SAR Image Based on a CIE-Lab Encoding [PDF]

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2018
Color enhancement of decomposed fully polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) image is vital for visual understanding and interpretation of the polarimetric information about the target.

Preparation and Properties of Intrinsically Black Polyimide Films with CIE Lab Color Parameters Close to Zero and High Thermal Stability for Potential Applications in Flexible Printed Circuit Boards. [PDF]

open access: yesPolymers (Basel), 2022
Black polymer films with high thermal stability are highly desired in flexible electrical and electronic fields. Conventional black polymer films based on high-temperature resistant polymers and black inorganic dyes are usually suffered from the poor electrical and tensile properties. In the current work, a series of intrinsically black polyimide (BPI)

Gradation trajectories as an analog of gradation curves in the metric CIE Lab space: discrete approach [PDF]

open access: yesКомпьютерная оптика, 2019
In the work, an approach that uses three-dimensional gradation trajectories in the CIE Lab metric space as analogs of traditional gradational curves is developed.

COLOUR ANALYSIS IN THE CIE LAB SPACE REGARDING THE DYEING WITH WELD AND MADDER DYES [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of the University of Oradea: Fascicle of Textiles, Leatherwork, 2022
In recent years, there is a great tendency for ecological dyeing and finishing of natural fabrics with natural dyes. Natural dyes obtained from nature were used for dyeing of textiles from ancient times till the nineteenth century. Weld (Reseda Luteola L.

Evaluation of color change using CIE LAB coordinates on tooth structure subjected to different concentrations of peroxide carbamide [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Clínica De Periodoncia Implantología Y Rehabilitación Oral, 2018
ABSTRACT: Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the optical behavior of tooth color using CIE L*A*B* space; the teeth were subjected to novel bleaching gels containing peroxide carbamide with potassium oxalate. Materials and Method: Three different carbamide peroxide gels were experimentally fabricated.

Urine color tool for coronary heart disease phenotyping [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports
CHD patients often present region-specific symptom clusters, such as “upper-body heat-related” (e.g., bitter taste) or “lower-body cold-related” (e.g., cold extremities), occurring independently or concurrently.

Two Alternative Methods to Predict Amylose Content of Rice Grain by Using Tristimulus CIE Lab Values and Developing a Specific Color Board of Starch-iodine Complex Solution

open access: yesPlant Production Science, 2011
Amylose content was predicted by measuring tridimensional Commission Internationale de l‘Eclairage (CIE L*a*b*), L*a*b* values in starch-iodine solutions and building a regression model. The developed regression model showed a highly significant relationship (R2=0.99) between the L*a*b* values and the amylose content.

Color Characterizations of Pure ZnO and ZnO/ SeO2 Thin Films Annealed at Different Temperature [PDF]

open access: yesKirkuk Journal of Science, 2021
Pure Zinc oxide and ZnO/SeO2 oxide thin films were prepared successfully by sol gel method and annealed at different temperature under ambient condition. These films were characterized by means of XRD, AFM, and UV-visible. XRD patterns clearly showed the
