Dose–Response Effects of Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation for Chronic Low Back Pain: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pain, Volume 30, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) is a widely used non‐pharmacological method for pain management, though its effectiveness in individuals with chronic low back pain (CLBP) is uncertain. Previous studies and systematic reviews have not systematically analysed the influence of TENS dosing parameters on treatment ...

Cytogenomic Abnormalities in Children With Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia From Western Mexico: A Single‐Center Fluorescence In Situ Hybridization‐Based Study

open access: yeseJHaem, Volume 7, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction In Mexico, the 5‐year overall survival (OS) rate for pediatric acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) ranges from 45% to 85%, markedly lower than the ∼90% reported in high‐income countries, where cytogenomic testing is essential for accurate risk stratification and therapeutic decision‐making.

The Gut Microbiota as a Mediator in the Relationship Between Dietary Patterns and Depression

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
Healthy dietary patterns are associated with gut microbial genera linked to lower depressive symptoms. In 644 older adults from the PREDIMED‐Plus cohort, 16S rRNA sequencing and dietary scoring revealed that taxa associated with a better diet quality were also more abundant in individuals with fewer depressive symptoms.

Design, Synthesis, and Evaluation of Naphthyl Pyrazino‐Pyrido‐Pyrimidinones Targeting the Phosphoinositide 3‐Kinase/Alpha‐Serine/Protein Kinase B/Mammalian Target of Rapamycin Pathway

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 2, February 2026.
Rationally designed naphthyl pyrazino‐pyrido‐pyrimidinones 3 and 4 inhibited 85%–94% of cancer cell growth. Compound 4 exhibited IC50 = 7.8–12.8 µM with tumor selectivity. Both induced G1 arrest and modulated ULK1, STAT3, alpha‐serine/protein kinase B (AKT), and autophagy via phosphoinositide 3‐kinase/mammalian target of rapamycin (PI3K/mTOR ...

Generation of functional noncanonical donor splice sites by +2T variants in breast cancer susceptibility genes: impact on clinical interpretation

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, Volume 268, Issue 2, Page 150-163, February 2026.
Abstract Splicing dysregulation is a relevant mechanism of pathogenicity for variants in disease susceptibility genes. Variants affecting the critical intronic +1 and +2 GT nucleotides of the 5’ splice sites (5'ss) are generally strong indicators of pathogenicity.
