Motor Dexterity Deficits in Individuals With First‐Episode Psychosis and Their First‐Degree Relatives

open access: yesActa Psychiatrica Scandinavica, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Motor dexterity deficits have been observed both before and during first‐episode psychosis (FEP), suggesting this may be a potential endophenotype for schizophrenia spectrum disorders. We aimed to compare motor dexterity performance in FEP patients, their first‐degree relatives, and controls.

Potential of alternative control of leaf‐cutting ants using essential oils: A systematic review

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology, EarlyView.
Abstract Leaf‐cutting ants (LCAs) are abundant and cause considerable damage to agricultural and forest crops in the Neotropical region and are commonly controlled using sulfluramid‐based ant baits. We argue that populist rulers pose a greater threat to legal impartiality, equality, and compliance when they face a legacy of weak rule of law.

Gene–Environment Interaction Affects Risk of Atopic Eczema: Population and In Vitro Studies

open access: yesAllergy, EarlyView.
Atopic eczema is a complex trait resulting from multiple genetic and environmental factors. This study investigated evidence for interaction between 24 established eczema genetic risk variants and 18 environmental factors. One variant‐environmental pair showed nominally significant interaction in discovery, replication and meta‐analyses: early‐life dog
