Balance Disorders in Young and Middle‐Aged Adults: NHANES, 2001–2004 and 2021–2023

This study presents nationally‐representative estimates from two health exam surveys, NHANES 2001–2004 and 2021–2023. In the two decades between test periods, scores on the modified Romberg screening test for balance function demonstrated significantly better age‐specific performance in 2021–2023.

Bronchial Mucosal Abnormalities in Idiopathic Subglottic Stenosis

Idiopathic subglottic stenosis (iSGS) is a challenging variant of airway stenosis associated with consistent distal airway abnormalities on bronchoscopy, including pits, depressions, and striations. Despite these findings, most patients demonstrate normal or mild–moderate obstruction on spirometry.

The Hidden Hazards of Vaping

A 31 year old male presented with a penetrating oropharyngeal injury following a motor vehicle collision and was found to have a retained metallic foreign body suspected to be part of a vape pen. The foreign body was abutting the carotid artery and was removed via a combined transoral and transcervical approach.
