Ciguatera fish poisoning is the most common foodborne illness related to fin fish consumption and is endemic throughout the Caribbean and Indo-Pacific regions. The clinical picture is characterized by a variety of gastrointestinal, neurologic and, occasionally, cardiovascular symptoms.
