Tunable Proton Conductivity and Color in a Nonporous Coordination Polymer via Lattice Accommodation to Small Molecules. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh), 2021
Proton conductivity mediated by acetonitrile molecules is unveiled in a nonporous coordination polymer. A vehicle mechanism is triggered by the dynamics of the weakly coupled acetonitrile molecules in the lattice that can be maintained by a combination of thermal cycles, even at low humidity levels.

A Universal Predictor‐Corrector Approach for Minimizing Artifacts Due To Mesh Refinement

open access: yesJournal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems, Volume 15, Issue 11, November 2023., 2023
Abstract With nested grids or related approaches, it is known that numerical artifacts can be generated at the interface of mesh refinement. Most of the existing methods of minimizing these artifacts are either problem‐dependent or numerical methods‐dependent.

Ambient‐Noise Wave‐Equation Tomography of the Alps and Ligurian‐Provence Basin

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 128, Issue 10, October 2023., 2023
Abstract Taking benefit of the AlpArray temporary network and permanent networks in W‐Europe, we construct a 3‐D onshore‐offshore velocity model of the crust and upper mantle using ambient‐noise wave‐equation tomography. We use a frequency‐dependent phase traveltime misfit function in an iterative procedure to refine a recent 3‐D Vs model computed from

Using anticipation to unveil drivers of local livelihoods in Transfrontier Conservation Areas: A call for more environmental justice

open access: yesPeople and Nature, Volume 5, Issue 2, Page 726-741, April 2023., 2023
Abstract Calling on the concept of environmental justice in its distributive, procedural and recognition dimensions, we implemented a coelaborative scenario building approach to explore sustainable livelihoods pathways in four sites belonging to two Transfrontier Conservation Areas (TFCAs) in southern Africa.

A Struggled Rupture Initiation of the Mw 6.1 2009 L’Aquila Earthquake

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 50, Issue 6, 28 March 2023., 2023
Abstract Understanding under which physical conditions large earthquakes begin, is a key question in Earth science. Laboratory experiments and numerical models have shown that earthquake nucleation has distinct phases: a quasi‐static and an acceleration stage, followed by dynamic propagation. However, obtaining observations of such or similar processes

International Trade, the Great War, and the Origins of Taxation: Sister Republics Parting Ways

open access: yesSwiss Political Science Review, Volume 28, Issue 4, Page 585-603, December 2022., 2022
Abstract The First World War was a watershed moment for the development of the modern tax state. Yet, whereas the tax yield strongly increased in this period, little is known about how the tax mix changed, in particular regarding the turn to direct taxation.

Ambient‐Noise Tomography of the Ligurian‐Provence Basin Using the AlpArray Onshore‐Offshore Network: Insights for the Oceanic Domain Structure

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 127, Issue 8, August 2022., 2022
Abstract We derive a three‐dimensional shear‐wave velocity model of the Ligurian‐Provence back‐arc basin (Northwestern Mediterranean Sea) using ocean‐bottom seismometers (AlpArray OBSs) and land stations from permanent and temporary seismic networks. The quality of OBS continuous records is enhanced by a specific processing that reduces instrumental ...

Implications of Laterally Varying Scattering Properties for Subsurface Monitoring With Coda Wave Sensitivity Kernels: Application to Volcanic and Fault Zone Setting

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 126, Issue 12, December 2021., 2021
Abstract Monitoring changes of seismic properties at depth can provide a first‐order insight into Earth’s dynamic evolution. Coda wave interferometry is the primary tool for this purpose. This technique exploits small changes of waveforms in the seismic coda and relates them to temporal variations of attenuation or velocity at depth.

Influence of “Mingei (Folk Crafts)” on the Creative Theories of Charlotte Perriand

open access: yesJAPAN ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW, Volume 4, Issue 4, Page 548-555, October 2021., 2021
This paper aims to clarify the influence of ‘Mingei (Folk‐Crafts)’ on the creative theories of French architect and interior designer Charlotte Perriand (1903‐1999) . We trace her experience of ‘Folk‐Crafts’ during her time in Japan, and finally we reconsider an aspect of modern architecture. Abstract This paper aims to clarify the influence of “Mingei
