Five New Triterpene Bisglycosides with Acyclic Side Chains from the Rhizomes of Cimicifuga foetida L.

open access: yesChemical and Pharmaceutical Bulletin, 2010
Five new triterpene bisglycosides, foetidinosides A (1), B (2), C (3), D (4) and E (5), including three of the cycloartane type, one of its derivative, and one of the lanostane type were isolated from the rhizomes of Cimicifuga foetida. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic data and chemical evidence.

A Case of Severe Anemia in Pregnancy Treated With Traditional Chinese Medicine. [PDF]

open access: yesClin Case Rep
ABSTRACT This case report describes the treatment of a 29‐year‐old pregnant woman with severe anemia using traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). The patient, at 5 weeks of gestation, presented with a hemoglobin level of 75 g/L and had a history of autoimmune hemolytic anemia and alpha‐thalassemia, which had previously led to pregnancy termination at 17 ...

Ferulic Acid Alleviates Inflammation and Promotes Osteogenic Differentiation in Periodontitis by Inhibiting NF-κB Pathway. [PDF]

open access: yesStem Cells Int
Background Periodontitis refers to a chronic inflammatory illness that induces the destruction of periodontal tissues and can be driven by bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of pathogens. This study investigated the anti‐inflammatory potential and underlying mechanisms of ferulic acid (FA) in periodontitis.

Ferulic acid as a therapeutic agent in depression: Evidence from preclinical studies

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 29, Issue 9, Page 2397-2412, September 2023., 2023
Abstract Depression is a common but severe mood disorder with a very high prevalence across the general population. Depression is of global concern and poses a threat to human physical and mental health. Ferulic acid (FA) is a natural active ingredient that has antioxidative, anti‐inflammatory, and free radical scavenging properties.

Synergistic Modulation of Microglial Polarization by Acteoside and Ferulic Acid via Dual Targeting of Nrf2 and RORγt to Alleviate Depression-Associated Neuroinflammation. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
Machine‐learning‐directed phytochemical pair ACT/FA, administered at BDD's orthodox ratio, synergistically modulates microglial polarization via dual Nrf2/RORγt targeting to attenuate neuroinflammation and depressive behaviors. This concentration‐dependent synergism replicates the parent formula's efficacy while providing a mechanistic basis for ...
