Modeling and tuning of glucose oxidase‐catalase system incorporating dissolved oxygen concentration
Abstract BACKGROUND Gluconic acid production by a glucose oxidase (GOx) and catalase (CAT) system has been proposed. However, the bioprocess optimal design and operation are limited by the lack of kinetic models of GOx involving oxygen as substrate. Herein, the GOx‐CAT system is modeled considering a continuous oxygen supply at a bioreactor lab scale ...

Recovery of insular seabird populations years after rodent eradication
Abstract Seabirds have been particularly affected by invasive non‐native species, which has led to the implementation of numerous eradication campaigns for the conservation of these keystone and highly vulnerable species. Although the benefits of eradication of invasive non‐native species for seabird conservation have been demonstrated, the recovery ...

UNDERSTANDING GRAY ZONE WARFARE FROM MULTIPLE PERSPECTIVES
This study examines the dynamics of gray zone warfare by analyzing its conceptualization in the literature and through its practice in several recent examples. Ever‐increasing changes in the characteristics of contemporary warfare have complicated the security environment of the 21st century.

A thermometer based on single Nd3 + :Y2O3 nanoparticles is reported. It relies on the ratio of thermally coupled Nd3 + emission lines accessible by continuous‐wave upconversion under 880 nm or downconversion under 532 nm. The rate equation analysis lead to results that nicely agree with the experimental data. The system showed a relative sensitivity up

Percutaneous radiofrequency‐assisted liver partition with portal vein embolization in staged liver resection (PRALPPS), modIfied ALPPS with reduced surgical trauma on the first stage, was used in 11 patients with perihilar cholangiocarcinoma. PRALPPS did not differ from portal vein embolization (PVE) in terms of morbidity or mortality.

Estudio experimental de la alteración de la mojabilidad mediante el uso de un surfactante extraído del aceite del pino TOFA en el sistema crudo liviano/agua/SiO2 [PDF]
It is known that much of the oil is trapped in reservoirs after use of conventional methods for oil extraction. However, several methods have been introduced to increase the recovery of this oil, one of them is through the alteration of the wettability.
