Recent Advances in Sustainable Single‐Atom Catalysts from Biomass and Solid Waste: Design, Synthesis and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Biomass‐ and solid waste‐derived sustainable single‐atom catalysts (Sus‐SACs) provide a cost‐effective and renewable approach to catalyst design. This review summarizes precursor selection, including AI‐assisted screening, synthesis strategies with emphasis on ultrafast methods, and advanced characterization techniques.

Impact of CuInP2S6–metal interfaces on the stabilization of polar phases and polarization switching

open access: yesnpj 2D Materials and Applications
The multifunctionality of two-dimensional ferroelectric CuInP2S6 (CIPS) arises from the existence of multiple polar phases combined with a high ionic conductivity that facilitates polarization switching in unusual ways.

CCL1 is a major regulatory T cell attracting factor in human breast cancer

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2018
Background Regulatory T cells (Treg) suppress cytotoxic T cell anti-tumoral immune responses and thereby promote tumor progression. Prevention of intratumoral Treg accumulation by inhibition of their migration to the tumor microenvironment is a promising

Electrolyte‐Dependent Sodium Plating for Anode‐Free Na‐Ion Batteries Studied by Operando Optical Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Anode‐free sodium‐ion batteries are examined using carbonate‐, glyme‐, and localized high‐concentration electrolytes. Distinct sodium plating morphologies are identified by operando optical microscopy, revealing uniform crystalline deposition for glyme‐based systems.

Rheological Properties of Polyurethane-Based Magnetorheological Gels

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2019
The paper tests the influence of mass fractions of carbonyl iron particles (CIPs) on the rheological properties of magnetorheological (MR) gels. Polyurethane-based MR gels with different weight fraction of CIPs, i.e., 40, 60, and 80%, were firstly ...

CIPS test for Unit Root in Panel Data: further Monte Carlo results [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper analyzes, through Monte Carlo experiments, the behaviour of Pesaran's CIPS test for the null of a unit root in panel data when (i) the assumption of a single common factor in the specification of the cross-section dependence is violated and ...

Solvation‐Mediated Shift From Solvent‐ to Anion‐Derived Solid Electrolyte Interphases for Stable Calcium Metal Anodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ion‐dipole interaction based strategy is proposed to capture thermodynamically unstable solvents and restructure the coordination environment of calcium ions by introducing ionic liquid co‐solvents, thus suppressing excessive solvent decomposition. Therefore, a smooth and dense solid‐electrolyte interphase dominated by inorganic components is formed
