Narrowband Circuit Synthesis

2000
This chapter discusses the design of impedance-matching circuits. It often is necessary to connect components or networks that have different impedances. If these components were to be indiscriminately connected, energy would be reflected between them, causing energy loss and other unwanted effects.

Systematic synthesis method for analogue circuits. Part III. All-transistor circuit synthesis

2004 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (IEEE Cat. No.04CH37512), 2004
This paper and its companion papers (subtitles Part I and Part II) together present a systematic synthesis method for analogue circuits. This paper illustrates the synthesis method by deriving and analysing some known all-transistor circuits from their specification matrices.

A direct digital period synthesis circuit

IEEE Journal of Solid-State Circuits, 2002
This paper presents a direct digital period synthesis (DDPS) circuit, which combines the DDS' ability to control the frequency, with the speed and accuracy of a delay-locked-loop-based frequency multiplier. The resulting DDPS circuit can synthesize clocks with accurately controlled periods.

Synthesis of delay-verifiable combinational circuits

IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1995
Summary: We address the problem of testing circuits for temporal correctness. A circuit is considered delay-verifiable if its timing correctness can be established by applying delay tests. It is shown that verifying the timing of a circuit may require tests which can detect the simultaneous presence of more than one path delay fault.

Parallel Active-RC Circuit Synthesis

2019
Filtering at low frequencies means use of inductors and capacitors of large values. When inductors are excluded, such as in active RC circuits and small acceptable values are assigned to the capacitances, the resistances must have large values. To avoid these, simulated resistors are used in a form of a combination of capacitors and switches.

Synthesis of Sequential Circuits

1994
Chapter 3 covered the basic synthesis rules for clocked processes and the fact that they could be used to design sequential logic functions. This chapter presents the first discussions of how to design common sequential circuit functions using VHDL synthesis, and uses various types of counters as the vehicle to illustrate the techniques.

Information-driven library-based circuit synthesis

Euromicro Symposium on Digital System Design, 2003. Proceedings., 2003
The opportunities created by modern microelectronic technology cannot be effectively and efficiently exploited, because of weaknesses of the traditional circuit synthesis methods used in today's CAD tools. In this paper, a new information-driven circuit synthesis method is discussed that targets combinational circuits implemented with gates from the ...

Nominal Circuit Synthesis Results

1998
To validate our nominal synthesis formulation, we organize nominal synthesis results into two chapters that correspond to the broad directions in which we have tested its implementation in ASTRX/OBLX. First, in this chapter, we present nominal circuit synthesis results to show that ASTRX/OBLX can synthesize analog circuits and that—when compared to ...
