A new scale‐selective measure of curvature for meteorological fields

We introduce a novel diagnostic called curvature using radial variation (CURV) that quantifies the local cyclonic or anticyclonic curvature of mean‐sea‐level pressure or geopotential height gridded fields over selected scales. A depiction of how CURV values relate to differing cyclonic curvature is shown in the figure.

ABSTRACT People with physical disabilities face significant mobility challenges while climbing uneven surfaces and staircases. In these circumstances, traditional wheelchairs do not provide stable, safely controlled mobility, underscoring the importance of building superior stair‐climbing wheelchairs for both medical and infrastructure purposes.
