Viscous Flow Transverse to a Circular Cylinder
Proceedings of the Physical Society. Section B, 1950Expressions for the flow field about a circular cylinder are derived which are valid for small values of the Reynolds' number. These are obtained by Lamb's method from Oseen's equation, and it is shown that the formulae previously given by Lamb involve the neglect of a first order term.

Vibrations of Free Hollow Circular Cylinders
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1986A series solution of the general three-dimensional equations of linear elasticity is developed and used to find accurate natural frequencies for the vibration of hollow elastic circular cylinders with traction free surfaces. The series solution is found to converge to accurate frequencies with the use of very few terms.

Scattering by dielectric circular cylinders in a dielectric slab
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2010An analytical-numerical technique for the solution of the plane-wave scattering problem by a set of dielectric cylinders embedded in a dielectric slab is presented. Scattered fields are expressed by means of expansions into cylindrical functions, and the concept of plane-wave spectrum of a cylindrical function is employed to define reflection and ...

Azimuthal Surface Waves on Circular Cylinders
Journal of Applied Physics, 1955Solutions of Maxwell's equations are presented which satisfy the boundary conditions for corrugated and dielectric-clad circular conducting cylinders. These solutions have the physical interpretation of leaky azimuthal surface waves. Values of the complex propagation constant are given as functions of the geometry.

Nozzle jet flow-induced vibration of single circular cylinders and twin circular cylinders
Journal of Wind Engineering and Industrial Aerodynamics, 1993Abstract This study is an experimental investigation of the vibration phenomena of circular cylinders installed in a tube when they are subject to a cross-flow discharged through a nozzle hole of the outer tube. The objectives of this study are (1) to clarify the flow-induced vibration phenomena of the circular cylinders, (2) to obtain vortex ...
