Nascent Extracellular Matrix Converts Biomaterial Cues into Cell Fate Decisions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a tri‐directional interplay among cells, hydrogels, and their nascent extracellular matrix. Hydrogel norbornene modification alters CD44‐mediated cell–hydrogel interactions, which shape nascent matrix deposition, composition, and spatial organization.

Sea Cucumber‐Inspired Double‐Network Biopolymer Hydrogels for Programmable Soft Machines

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inspired by the mutable dermis of sea cucumbers, the collagen‐alginate double‐network elastomeric (CoDE) hydrogel achieves programmable, recoverable, and functional mechanical behavior. The CoDE hydrogel mimics the mutable stiffness of the sea cucumber dermis through a densified collagen cryogel scaffold that is secondarily reinforced by a dissipative,

Targeted Mechanogenetics to Modulate Specific Deep Neural Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces mechanogenetics, a nanobubble‐enhanced sonogenetic strategy for selective modulation of feeding‐related neural circuits in the mouse lateral hypothalamus. Mechanogenetic stimulation modulates feeding behavior through glutamatergic projections from the lateral hypothalamus to the ventral tegmental area, highlighting its potential ...

Microstructure Evolution in Dry‑Coated Sulfidic All‐Solid‐State Battery Cathodes: Investigating Core–Shell Particle Morphology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mixing method directly governs interface engineering and electrode morphology during the dry coating of all‐solid‐state battery cathodes. While high‐shear batch mixing yields poor electrode quality and lacks core–shell‐like features, continuous extruder mixing enables strong binder fibrillation and a core–shell‐like coating between the active material ...
