Circular Polarization of Internal Bremsstrahlung

Physical Review, 1957
A calculation is made of the circular polarization of the internal bramsstrahlung in allowed $\ensuremath{\beta}$-decay with the most general $\ensuremath{\beta}$-interaction. The polarization is found to rise from zero at the low-energy end of the spectrum to a maximum value at the high-energy end. This maximum value depends critically on the relative

TEM Modes and Circular Polarization

American Journal of Physics, 1963
In this treatment of transverse electromagnetic waves circularly polarized waves of opposite senses are associated with a given positive frequency and the corresponding negative frequency. Linear polarization is thus obtained only as a superposition of circularly polarized waves.

Circular-polarization modulator

Nature Photonics, 2017
Switching the handedness of circularly polarized light requires separately controlling the phases of orthogonal components while maintaining their magnitudes, ideally with gigahertz operation rates. Ultrafast switching has now been realized via all-optical control of birefringent metamaterials.

Superachromatic circular polarizer

Measurement Science and Technology, 2000
We present a design for a superachromatic circular polarizer that can be constructed with conventional, two-element, achromatic half-wave and quarter-wave retarders and used over the whole range of visible wavelengths.

A wave polarization converter for circular polarization

IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation, 1963
A linearly polarized wave may be converted to a circularly polarized wave by means of a panel which provides 90\deg difference in transmission phase between two crossed linear components. This phase difference is obtained over a wide frequency band by means of thin sheets containing both inductive and capacitive shunt susceptance.

Circular Polarized LCD

Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Science and Technology. Section A. Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 1998
Abstract Novel LCD, which transmits circularly polarized light, is reported. The circular polarized light enables us to see the LCD screen through polarized sunglasses. It is developed for outdoor application, such as mobile computing, car navigator, and so on. The circular light is achieved by placing additional quarter wave film upon the screen.

Circular Polarization of Starlight

Astrophysics, 2004
Of the 7500 stars cited in the Catalog of starlight polarization, those which satisfy the condition P obs ≤ σρ% and A V ≥ 0m.5 are selected. It is presumed that the selected stars (n=216) have circularly polarized light.

A Nonreciprocal Circular Polarizer

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1967
A nonreciprocal circular polarizer has been developed. This ferrite device converts linear polarization propagating in rectangular waveguide into circular polarization propagating in circular waveguide. The sense, right- or left-hand, of the circular polarization is determined by the direction of a longitudinal magnetic field applied to the ferrite. If
