Circular saw suicide

Journal of Forensic and Legal Medicine, 2007
A case of an individual who died as a result of a self-inflicted circular saw injury to the head is presented. Death appeared to result from massive haemorrhage from injury to the superior sagittal sinus. The described mechanism of injury appears to be very unusual and may have reflected underlying issues.

Suicide by a circular saw

Forensic Science International, 2008
The case of a suicide of a 32-year-old female using an electric circular saw is herein described. The decedent was suffering from depression and was found dead in her room. Beside her right hand was lying a circular saw, which was not running. The autopsy revealed a large gaping wound measuring 15.5 cm in length on the right side of her neck. The right

Circular saw blade

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1983
A circular saw blade having reduced vibration through increased damping by utilization of radial slots in the blade to form blade segments to interrupt circumferential vibration in the blade which may have blade segment stiffening means and having a damping collar axially aligned with said blade to provide a sink for dissipation of vibrational energy ...

Circular saw blade

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1994
A circular saw blade of the sandwich-type, i.e. a blade comprising two steel discs (2, 3) on the periphery of which the cutting elements (5) of the blade are attached. In order to improve the vibration and noise damping properties of such blades an intermediate layer (4) of an energy-absorbing and solderable material is introduced between the discs and

Circular saw aerodynamic noise

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1992
Summary: The aerodynamically induced noise of an idling circular saw turning at high speed is investigated both experimentally and analytically. The origin of the noise is shown to be fluctuating lift forces acting on the teeth. The sources at the teeth radiate incoherently as baffled dipoles and account for the generated noise.
