Surgical treatment for neonatal Ebstein's anomaly with circular shunting [PDF]

open access: yesInteractive CardioVascular and Thoracic Surgery, 2012
We report a case of surgical treatment for neonatal Ebstein's anomaly with circular shunting. A prenatal diagnosis of Ebstein's anomaly was made at 30 weeks of gestation. In addition to severe tricuspid regurgitation, severe pulmonary regurgitation was also noted, resulting in a 'circular shunt'.

Fetal circular shunt in Ebstein's Anomaly and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory treatment

open access: yesJournal of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, 2023
Abstract A circular shunt is a poor prognostic factor associated with Ebstein's anomaly. Targeting the constriction of the ductus arteriosus (DA) in order to limit or resolve the circular shunt, has been shown to improve fetal outcomes. Prenatal non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) have been known to constrict the DA.

Bilateral Pulmonary Artery Banding in Ebstein's Anomaly With Circular Shunting [PDF]

open access: yesThe Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 2019
We present a case of critical Ebstein's anomaly with circular shunting, diagnosed in utero. The fetal cardiothoracic area ratio was elevated; tricuspid regurgitation and pulmonary regurgitation worsened with fetal hydrops. At 35 weeks 6 days of gestation, elective caesarean section delivery was performed.

Impedance analysis of new PS internal dump design [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) project at CERN calls for increasing beam intensity in the injector chain. In the Proton Synchrotron (PS), a pre-injector of the LHC, these intensities can result in beam instabilities and potential RF ...

RF MEMS Based Tunable Bowtie Shaped Substrate Integrated Waveguide Filter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A tunable bandpass filter based on a technique that utilizes substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) and double coupling is presented. The SIW based bandpass filter is implemented using a bowtie shaped resonator structure.

Magneto-Electric Dipole Antenna Arrays [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A planar magneto-electric (ME) dipole antenna array is proposed and demonstrated by both full-wave analysis and experiments. The proposed structure leverages the infinite wavelength propagation characteristic of composite right/left-handed (CRLH ...

Patent Ductus Arteriosus Banding for Circular Shunting After Pulmonary Valvuloplasty

open access: yesWorld Journal for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery, 2016
We report two cases of newborns with critical pulmonary stenosis having intact ventricular septum, who underwent pulmonary valve balloon valvuloplasty followed by banding of a patent ductus arteriosus. Transcatheter pulmonary valvuloplasty was performed one week after delivery.

Genetic predisposition to porto‐sinusoidal vascular disorder: A functional genomic‐based, multigenerational family study

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
A deleterious variant of FCHSD1 results in mTOR pathway overactivation and may cause porto‐sinusoidal vascular disorder (PSVD). The pedigree of the family demonstrated an autosomal dominant disease with variable expressivity. Whole‐genome sequencing and Sanger sequencing both validated the existence of the FCHSD1 variant and the heterozygosity of c ...
