Abstract Introduction After severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS‐CoV‐2) pneumonia, patients may show lung sequelae on radiology and functional impairment at the 1‐year follow‐up. We aimed to describe the persistence of symptoms, radiological alterations, or reduced diffusing capacity of the lung for carbon monoxide (DLCO) at 1‐year ...

Serum exosome inflamma‐miRs are surrogate biomarkers for asthma phenotype and severity
We measured the levels of several inflamma‐miRs in serum exosomes from 30 healthy and 119 asthmatic donors with different phenotypes and severities. miR‐21‐5p, miR‐126‐3p, miR146a‐5p, and miR‐215‐5p increased in MSA vs. MA and a logistic regression model was fitted (AUC=0.896).

How reliably can algorithms identify eosinophilic asthma phenotypes using non‐invasive biomarkers?
Abstract Background and Aims Asthma is a heterogeneous respiratory disease that encompasses different inflammatory and functional endophenotypes. Many non‐invasive biomarkers has been investigated to its pathobiology. Heany et al proposed a clinical algorithm that classifies severe asthmatic patients into likely‐eosinophilic phenotypes, based on ...

Clinical and inflammatory characteristics of patients with asthma in the Spanish MEGA project cohort
Abstract Introduction The MEGA (MEchanism underlying the Genesis and evolution of Asthma) project is a multicenter cohort study carried out in eight Spanish hospitals, gathering clinical, physiological, and molecular data from patients with asthma and multimorbidities in order to gain insight into the different physiopathological mechanisms involved in
