Citomegalovirus. Infecção congénita ou neonatal?
Congenital Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection occurs in about 1% of the newborns, but it is clinically unapparent in around 90% of the cases during the newborn period. This congenital infection may be the cause of neurological sequelae of variable severity, namely neuro-sensorial hearing loss.

Se presenta el caso de un varón que a los 5 meses de vida desarrolla un Síndrome Nefrótico clínico-bioquímico, con serología positiva a CMV IgG e IgM. En la biopsia renal, incremento de matriz mesangial, ligera hipercelularidad y estudio histoquímico con anticuerpo policlonal anti-CMV negativo.
