Impact of the GouM transporter on secondary metabolism activation and production yield in Streptomyces noursei strain CK‐15

open access: yesNew Plant Protection, EarlyView.
Overexpression of the gouM transporter gene in Streptomyces noursei CK‐15 enhances gougerotin production by 114% and activates silent biosynthetic gene clusters. This finding links transporter activity to metabolite efflux and secondary metabolism, offering a strategy for natural product discovery and strain optimization.
