Orange douce - Citrus sinensis

Essential Oil of Two New Pigmented Citrus Hybrids,Citrus clementina × Citrus sinensis
Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 1997The chemical composition of the essential oils of two new Citrus hybrids, obtained by crossbreeding the diploid clementine Citrus clementina Hort. ex Tan. and the tetraploid orange Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck cv. Tarocco, was studied by GC/MS. In all, 42 components were fully characterized and grouped into four classes (monoterpene hydrocarbons ...

Citrus sinensis a potential solution against superbugs
Applied Nanoscience, 2020The rate of drug resistance strains increased drastically over the past several decades, which forced researchers to develop new drugs to treat these pathogens. In the present study by the use of well diffusion method, the antimicrobial activity of Citrus sinensis and its synergism with chitosan modified compound (CMC) were checked.

Prenyltransferases from the flavedo of Citrus sinensis
Phytochemistry, 1981Abstract A prenyltransferase activity (EC 2.5.1.1) has been partially purified from the flavedo of Citrus sinensis with 30–40-fold purification and 35–60 % yield. The enzyme catalyses the condensation of IPP with DMAPP or GPP. The products are neryl and geranyl pyrophosphate as well as (2 E ,6 E )- and (2 Z ,6 E )-farnesyl pyrophosphate.

Calmodulin from Citrus sinensis: Purification and characterization
Phytochemistry, 1986Abstract A protein identifiable as calmodulin has been isolated from the fruit tissue of Citrus sinensis (cv. Valencia). This protein is relatively heat-stable, binds to hydrophobic gels in a calcium-dependent fashion and to antibody against rat testis calmodulin, and stimulates calmodulin-deficient cAMP phosphodiesterase.

Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, 1963
AbstractComparative analyses of seed oils from the four most important orange varieties at different stages of maturity have shown remarkably similar fatty acid content by GLC. Percentage distribution of fatty acids, refractive index, and iodine number could probably be used to differentiate or help confirmCitrus species since there is enough variation

Problems of potassium nutrition in citrus (Citrus sinensis) orchards in Egypt
1990The content of exchangeable pottasium (K) in soil is a widespread international parameter of the K-status of a soil. The use of this parameter in Egypt suggests that alluvial soils are extremely rich in K, and that sandy and calcareous soils are low in this nutrient.
