Mechanistic Insight into H2S‐Induced Fluorescence Quenching in a Robust Metal–Organic Framework

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
An ultramicroporous Zn‐based metal‐organic framework, MFM‐520, enables reversible hydrogen sulfide adsorption and selective fluorescence sensing. Confinement of H2S within the pores perturbs ligand‐centered excited states through weak host‐guest interactions, enhancing non‐radiative decay pathways.

Titanium Detected in Liver, Kidney, Spleen, and Intestine Is Not Related to Dose, Time, or Route of Exposure to Titanium Dioxide: A Systematic Review

open access: yesEnvironmental Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Titanium dioxide (TiO2), used as a food additive (labeled E171 in Europe), was withdrawn from the European market in 2022. The E171 toxicity mechanism involves its uptake, oxidative stress, DNA damage, and inflammation. It has been hypothesized that the TiO2 accumulation nanoparticles (NPs) or E171 triggers tissue damage, and some studies have

First Non‐Invasive Monitoring of Fecal Steroids in Greater Caribbean Manatees (Trichechus manatus manatus)

open access: yesZoo Biology, EarlyView.
This study established the first fecal hormonal reference values (P4/E2) for the Greater Caribbean manatee. Using non‐invasive ELISA, the authors found no significant differences between mature and immature females, highlighting that long‐term monitoring and ultrasounds are essential to fully understand their complex reproductive cycles.

Mexican Teachers' Cohort Cognitive Study: A pilot of home-based assessments. [PDF]

open access: yesAlzheimers Dement
Abstract INTRODUCTION Expanding research on aging and cognition in low‐ and middle‐income countries is critical, yet logistically complex. Large, established cohorts, such as the Mexican Teachers’ Cohort (MTC; >100,000 women), pose unique opportunities for neurocognitive research in Latin America.
