Sudan at War With Itself: Civilian Devastation in the Civil War

open access: yesConflict Resolution Quarterly, Volume 43, Issue 4, Page 599-611, Summer 2026.
ABSTRACT A civil war is raging in Sudan between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) along with militia groups. Beginning on April 15, 2023, and continuing at least to this writing (October 15, 2025), civilian noncombatants have been subjected to bombings, beatings, torture, shootings, rape, and murder on a large scale. Influence of Higher Concentrations of Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes on the Tensile and Flexural Performance of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymers

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 6, June 2026.
The addition of MWCNTs enhanced the tensile and flexural behavior of GFRP composites. Maximum strength and stiffness were obtained at 3 wt% MWCNTs, whereas intermediate contents showed reduced performance due to poor dispersion. The results confirm that uniform nanotube dispersion is essential for achieving reliable mechanical performance in GFRP ...

Revealing Tidal Pumping Processes of Alternating Groundwater Discharge and Tidal Intrusion Using Vertical Temperature Analysis Along an Estuarine Interface

open access: yesHydrological Processes, Volume 40, Issue 6, June 2026.
Temperature with depth measurements were used to model heat transport associated with sub‐daily changes in bidirectional hydrological fluxes. Tidal pumping along the shoreline, of alternating patterns of tidal intrusion during high tide and groundwater discharge during low tide, was modelled using a recursive estimation state‐space model.

Scene Investigation from the Sky: Current and Future Uses of Unoccupied Aerial Systems in Forensic Investigations

open access: yesWIREs Forensic Science, Volume 8, Issue 2, June 2026.
Police drone technology could be utilized to support forensic scene investigations. If the challenges of implementing new technologies can be overcome, drones could improve operational efficiency, interpretation issues and add investigative value in the courtroom. ABSTRACT Unoccupied aerial systems (UAS; otherwise known as Uncrewed Aerial Vehicles (UAV)

The Political Economy of Industrial Policy in China: The Case of Aircraft Manufacturing [PDF]

open access: yes
Since 1960, only one new country, Brazil, has succeeded in delivering more than one civil jet per month. Otherwise, all the countries now offering world-class planes were established in aviation by the end of World War I.
