Sensitivity analysis and stochastic optimization of levelized cost of hydrogen production through methane pyrolysis

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Hydrogen plays a crucial role across multiple industrial sectors and is increasingly recognized as a clean energy carrier with significant potential in decarbonization efforts. Methane pyrolysis (MP), particularly using molten metal catalysts, offers a promising pathway for hydrogen production with low CO2 emissions.

Supercritical water deasphalting and desulphurization of heavy fuel oil with comprehensive molecular‐level analysis and techno‐economic analysis

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Supercritical water deasphalting. Abstract The removal of sulphur from heavy fuel oil (HFO) is essential to address environmental concerns and comply with the stringent regulations imposed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in 2020. Previously, the acceptable limit for sulphur was 3.5 wt.%, but it was recently changed to 0.5 wt.%.

Asymptotic properties of cross‐classified sampling designs

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract We investigate the family of cross‐classified sampling designs across an arbitrary number of dimensions. We introduce a variance decomposition that enables the derivation of general asymptotic properties for these designs and the development of straightforward and asymptotically unbiased variance estimators.

Unlocking Antlers? An Evaluation of an Environmental Mediation Process in Scotland Based on Direct Observation

open access: yesConflict Resolution Quarterly, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Environmental conflicts are increasing as is interest in ways they can be managed. However, evaluations of Environmental Conflict Resolution (ECR) processes based on direct observation remain scarce, despite ECR existing for over half a century.

The Effect of Institutional Pressures and Business Incentives on the Level of Corporate Compliance System Implementation

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The risk of noncompliance with societal requirements, internal policies, and industry standards can damage a company's reputation and image. There may be institutional pressures and firm incentives and characteristics that drive the implementation of a compliance management system (CMS).

Exploring the Emergence of Contractors' Low‐Carbon Attention in Public Projects: Perspectives From an Attention‐Based View

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The role of public project construction in achieving net‐zero carbon emissions highlights the imperative for contractors to prioritize low‐carbon practices. This study investigates the emergence of contractors' low‐carbon attention (LCA) based on the attention‐based view (ABV), focusing on structural factors (i.e., institutional logic and low ...
