Hole Transport Role of Perovskite in Thick Film Perovskite Solar Cells without a Rear Blocking Layer

open access: yesSolar RRL, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that perovskite solar cells with micrometer‐scale light‐absorbing layers can achieve efficiencies approaching 13.8% even without a rear blocking layer (RBL). By eliminating horizontal grain boundaries, the 3 μm‐thick RBL‐free device shows enhanced open‐circuit voltage and stable operation.

Boosting Li–O2 Battery Performance and Stability With ZnI2: Synergistic Effects on Anode Protection and Cathode Activation

open access: yesSusMat, EarlyView.
ZnI₂ serves as a bifunctional redox mediator in Li–O2 batteries, enabling both enhanced anode protection and cathode activation. A simple in situ formed LiZn/Zn alloy layer stabilizes the lithium metal surface, minimizing parasitic reactions. This promotes uniform Li plating and a stable SEI.

Erving Goffman at 100: A Chameleon Seen as a Rorschach Test within a Kaleidoscope

open access: yesSymbolic Interaction, EarlyView.
The 100th anniversary of Erving Goffman's birth was in 2022. Drawing on his work, the Goffman archives, the secondary literature, and personal experiences with him and those in his university of Chicago cohort, I reflect on some implications of his work and life, and the inseparable issues of understanding society.
