Hydride Materials for Advanced Electrochemical Energy Storage: Progress and Perspectives

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
Hydrides are emerging as functional materials for low‐carbon electrochemical energy storage. Complex hydrides provide polyanionic electrolyte frameworks for all‐solid‐state, Li–S, and multivalent batteries; hydride ion conductors enable H− transport for emerging hydride‐based cells; and metal hydrides offer established electrode chemistries for Ni–MH ...

Disciplining India: paternalism, neo-liberalism and Hindutva civilizationalism

open access: yesInternational Affairs, 2023
Abstract Policy hybrids, which combine marketizing and liberalizing reforms with social welfare programmes and state support to boost domestic production, are fast becoming the norm globally. How are neo-liberal and national-developmentalist agendas reconciled as governing practices, and what are their national and international outcomes

Mobilizing Islam for National Populism in AKP's Turkey: Civilizationism in the Diyanet's Friday Sermons

open access: yes
During the AKP (Justice and Development Party) era since 2002, Turkey visibly transformed from a secular country to a more Islamist-prone one, where the goal of raising "a pious generation" was declared as part of a top-down Islamization project.

Electronic Structure Modulation in Dopant‐Controlled Single‐Atom Graphene Catalysts for Efficient Hydrogen Evolution: A Machine Learning and First‐Principles Study

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
First‐principles DFT calculations and machine learning analysis show that heteroatom doping of graphene (G) significantly enhances the stabilization of transition‐metal single atoms by strengthening metal–support interactions and increasing charge transfer. N‐doped G exhibits higher adsorption energies, lower d‐band centers, and shorter TM–G bonds than

Water Governance Under International Pressure: Policy Narratives, Food Security, Scarcity, and the Politics of Survival in Iran

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Water governance is increasingly influenced by a paradox at the nexus of environmental scarcity and food security. Escalating water scarcity crises coincide with geopolitical disruptions that have exposed the fragility of global food supply chains, prompting states to expand domestic food production at the expense of water conservation ...

Environmental Statecraft, Fragmented Authoritarianism, and Technocratic Governance: The Structure and Agency of China's Local Environmental Politics

open access: yesEnvironmental Policy and Governance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Local environmental politics in China is often said to be dominated by state‐controlled modes of multi‐level governance. However, top‐down governance is embedded within and transformed by local politics, adding complexity to governance practices and environmental outcomes.

Nutraceutical Benefits of Anchomanes difformis Rhizome and Its Effects on Blood Glucose and Hepatorenal Function in Normoglycemic Rats

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
Scientific analysis of Anchomanes difformis roots confirms significant nutraceutical potential, containing high levels of carbohydrates, proteins, and essential minerals. Phytochemical screening revealed antioxidants such as phenols and flavonoids, and although the extracts effectively lowered plasma glucose, safety testing showed dose‐dependent risks.
