Occupational Exposure to Ultrafine Particles in Metal Additive Manufacturing: A Qualitative and Quantitative Risk Assessment. [PDF]
Ultrafine particles (UFPs) can be released unintentionally during metal additive manufacturing (AM). Experts agree on the urgent need to increase the knowledge of the emerging risk of exposure to nanoparticles, although different points of view have ...

Herein, two radiometric models for predicting the radiation field of side‐emitting fiber light guides and fabric structures are presented. Testing these models against experimental data shows that the fiber's longitudinal emission is decisive near its surface and that the fiber's angular emission determines the far field radiation.

A novel method is introduced for estimating the angular scattering profile of laser‐written structures in optical fibers using model predictions and experimental data. Fourier microscopy is employed to capture almost 4p solid angle scattering data. Such data may help in the design of fiber optical light diffusers and fiber probes with tailored emission

HIGH RIGIDITY AND VIBRATION ENDURANCE BAR FOR DEEP HOLES [PDF]
Different constructions of bars are analyzed in the article, all of which are based on the idea of creating prestressed state in material. Improved construction of bar is proposed for equable spreading of elasticity zone along axis of boring ...

Impulsive noise reduction for transient Earth voltage‐based partial discharge using Wavelet‐entropy
Partial discharge (PD) is caused by the localised electrical field intensification in insulating materials. Early detection and accurate measurement of PD are very important for preventing premature failure of the insulating material. Detection of PDs in metal‐clad apparatus through the transient Earth voltage method is a promising approach in non ...
