Quantitative relationship between cladocera and cyanobacteria: A study based on field survey

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution, 2022
Cyanobacteria are a widely distributed phytoplankton that can bloom and produce algal toxins in the eutrophicated water bodies. Large cladocerans are a group of zooplankton that presents higher grazing efficiency on algae.

Miocene cladocera from Poland [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2020
AbstractThe Bełchatów Lignite Mine of Poland is a treasure-cove for mid-to late Miocene plant and animal fossils, deposited in a slow-flowing river valley with swamps and oxbow lakes. Here, we report the finding of abundant fossil anomopod cladocerans. Some are three-dimensionally preserved, including the taxonomically important trunk limbs.
