Abstract The cladocerans, currently thought to contain approximately 630 species, constitute the most speciose and anatomically diverse group within Branchiopoda. Unlike other branchiopods with gonopores located around the 12th thoracic somite, cladocerans are truly oligomerous, with greatly shortened bodies.

Cladocera Diaphanosoma macrophthalma Korovchinsky & Mirabdullaev, 1995. We identified the species in Xinjiang for the first time. This species is distributed in Central and East Asia from Uzbekistan to Japan and penetrates south to North-East Thailand. However, it is rarely recorded in China.

Ecology, 1982
In situ enclosure experiments were used to asses the importance of competition to the population dynamics of three cladocerans (Daphnia pulex, Moina affinis, and Ceriodaphnia sp.) in a small pond. Competitive effects were nonlinear functions of cladoceran density, and both intra and interspecific competition were important determinants of the dynamics ...

2023Summer temperature, thickness of winter frozen layer of water and presence or absence of macrophytes are suggested to be essential factors of copepods distribution over Subarctic water bodies. Southern woodland species (Limnosida frontosa, Diaphanosome brachyurum, Leptodora kinndti) scarcely occur in Subarctics, they are characteristic with low ...

Cladocera of Hainan Island, China
Zootaxa, 2015The cladoceran fauna of Hainan Island (China) was investigated. Samples were collected in January 2013 and in April 2014 from over hundred water bodies, including large and small reservoirs, ponds and pools, rivers, streams, and paddy fields. There are no large natural lakes on the island.

The only species of Cladocera so far known from Rajasthan is Latona tiwari decribed by BISwAS (1964) . The present paper which deals with 17 species of Cladocera, is based on a few collections from different localities in Raj asthan during the period between 1962 and 1964.

Among the freshwater zooplankton community, Cladocera represent one of the most common elements of pelagic populations. Being almost exclusively filter feeders and algae users and, at the same time, the favourite prey of invertebrate and vertebrate predators, Cladocera represent the most important group in the plankton community of lakes as regards ...
