Antagonism and Effect of Volatile Metabolites of Trichoderma spp. on Cladosporium spp.

open access: yesFloresta e Ambiente, 2019
Pecan is susceptible to the occurrence of diseases capable of harming its development, and leaf spot caused by Cladosporium spp is among them. Therefore, the objective of this work was to analyze the potential antagonist and in vitro effect of volatile ...

Effect of Calcium Deficiency on Growth and Leaf Acid Soluble Proteins of Tomato [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The effects of temporary Ca (Ca) calcium deficiency lasting 2, 3, 4 or 5 d were investigated on tomato plants at the 6-leaf stage, grown hydroponically under controlled conditions. With 2, 3 or 4 d of Ca deficiency, the dry weight of the tomato leaves,

Effects of applying Trichoderma asperellum to rice (Oryza sativa) on phytobiome and plant responses

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, EarlyView.
We investigated the effect of dipping at transplanting or post‐transplanting spray application on the root‐associated microbiome or leaf epiphytes via amplicon sequencing, and on plant responses via RNA‐seq. Both root dipping and foliar application with Trichoderma asperellum spore suspension only had a limited impact on the leaf epiphytes and root ...

The grapevine microbiota: A review on the possible impacts of plant protection programs on phyllosphere microorganisms

open access: yesAnnals of Applied Biology, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in understanding how plant protection programs and alternative fungicides affect the taxonomic composition of the grapevine phyllosphere microbiota. Bacterial and fungal communities are primarily shaped by the plant compartment, vineyard location, and sampling time. Plant protection programs generally have a minor

Evaluation of Fungal Metabolic Compounds Released to the Air in a Restricted Environment [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The metabolic action of selected fungi species on common components of the interior of Space Station Freedom (SSF) will be tested. When present, volatile organic chemicals will be collected on porous polymer adsorbent columns.

Characterising the role of GABA and its metabolism in the wheat pathogen Stagonospora nodorum [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A reverse genetics approach was used to investigate the role of γ-aminobutyric acid metabolism in the wheat pathogenic fungus Stagonospora nodorum. The creation of mutants lacking Sdh1, the gene encoding succinic semialdehyde dehydrogenase, resulted in ...

Airborne Alternaria and Cladosporium fungal spores in Europe: Forecasting possibilities and relationships with meteorological parameters.

open access: yesScience of the Total Environment, 2019
Airborne fungal spores are prevalent components of bioaerosols with a large impact on ecology, economy and health. Their major socioeconomic effects could be reduced by accurate and timely prediction of airborne spore concentrations. The main aim of this

First reported case of Cladosporium para-aortic abscess

open access: yesIDCases, 2022
Cladosporium species are ubiquitous dematiaceous fungi, widely found in the indoor and outdoor environments. They are considered a frequent source of contamination in laboratory settings.

A Walk in the Park: Influence of Natural Co‐Exposure to Grass Pollen and Fungal Spores on Nasal Mycobiome and Cytokine Responses

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Allergy, EarlyView.
Volunteers stayed 3 h indoors and followed 1 h outdoors in a flowering meadow. Nasal mycobiome was analysed and aeroallergen content measured in nasal filters. Airborne fungal spores were quantified and fungal isolates were sequenced. Isolated fungal spores were used for stimulation of nasal epithelial cells.
