Antifungal piperamides from Piper mollicomum Kunth (Piperaceae)
The phytochemical study on dichlorometane extracts of leaves, stem and roots of Piper mollicomum Kunth (Piperaceae) led to isolation of the known piperamides tembamide (1), (R)-(-)-tembamide acetate (2) and riparin I (3).

Selection and orchard testing of antagonists suppressing conidia production of the apple scab pathogen Venturia inaequalis [PDF]
Apple scab caused by Venturia inaequalis is a major disease in apple production. Epidemics in spring are initiated by ascospores produced on overwintering leaves whereas epidemics during summer are driven by conidia produced on apple leaves by biotrophic

Effect of Vibration on Dispersal of Cladosporium cladosporioides Bioaerosols
The vibration of fungal cultures was evaluated to determine its potential effect on the dispersal of airborne fungal microorganisms suspected of being pathogens. An artificial vibration system, which simulates the actual environmental vibration of fungal structures, was designed and constructed for this purpose.

Detoxification of toxic phorbol esters from Malaysian Jatropha curcas Linn. kernel by Trichoderma spp. and endophytic fungi [PDF]
The presence of phorbol esters (PEs) with toxic properties limits the use of Jatropha curcas kernel in the animal feed industry. Therefore, suitable methods to detoxify PEs have to be developed to render the material safe as a feed ingredient.

Abstract BACKGROUND The control of fungal diseases in organic fruit production remains a major challenge due to the limited availability of authorized phytosanitary tools. This study evaluates the efficacy of two antagonistic yeasts – Metschnikowia pulcherrima L672 and Hanseniaspora uvarum L793 – in organic peach (Prunus persica) and plum (Prunus ...
