Enhancement of ultrasound images with bilateral filter and Rayleigh CLAHE

2015 23nd Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2015
Ultrasound imaging is a frequently preferred method due to its many advantages. In ultrasound images noise and unseen details reduce visualization. In this work a new approach for denoising image and enhance local details in ultrasound image is proposed. Bilateral filter which preserve edge changes after filtering is utilized to remove noise.

Underwater image enhancement algorithm based on CLAHE and USM

2016 IEEE International Conference on Information and Automation (ICIA), 2016
Over the last few decades underwater image processing has received considerable attention due to its challenging nature and its importance. The quality of underwater images is worse than that of images shot in the air and images usually appear foggy and hazy. In this paper a novel algorithm is proposed for underwater image enhancement. Our algorithm is

Color retinal image enhancement using CLAHE

International Conference on ICT for Smart Society, 2013
Common method in image enhancement that's often use is histogram equalization, due to this method is simple and has low computation load. In this research, we use Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE) to enhance the color retinal image.

Enhancement of Underwater Images using Improved CLAHE

2018 International Conference on Advanced Computation and Telecommunication (ICACAT), 2018
Basically, the contrast and sharpness of the images captured in underwater will be significantly deteriorated and diminished caused by the less perceptibility of the image which is due to the water medium’s physical properties. In this work, Improved version of CLAHE mechanism is used.

Underwater image enhancement using blending of CLAHE and percentile methodologies

Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2018
In this paper, a method has been proposed for enhancement of underwater images commonly suffering from low contrast and degraded shading quality. The entirety of the image is changed when we move to capture of images, from air to the water. During capturing some absorption, reflection and scattering effects are induced in the form of contrast, quality ...

Visibility Enhancement in Turbid Water Based on Polarization and CLAHE

Volume 5: Ocean Engineering, 2023
Abstract Underwater visual distance is usually limited due to absorption and scattering of light, particularly in turbid water scenes. Currently, most underwater optical image processing algorithms are developed for the post-processing of static single-frame images taken in shallow water environments to achieve clear, color restoration ...

Fundus Image Enhancement using CLAHE

Journal of New Explorations in Electrical Engineering
Fundus retinal images are crucial for ophthalmologists to diagnose diseases and monitor changes in the condition. However, due to factors such as lighting conditions, instrument effects, and individual differences, fundus images often have the drawbacks of low contrast and lack of details.

An Improvement on GrabCut with CLAHE for the Segmentation of the Objects with Ambiguous Boundaries

2018
Interactive image segmentation scheme provides an opportunity to select/mark initial region(s) of the target object(s) with user interactions. In this way, the foreground objects are segmented easily and successfully from the scenes which have cluttered backgrounds and multiple objects.
