The Cognitive & Leisure Activity Scale (CLAS): A new measure to quantify cognitive activities in older adults with and without cognitive impairment

open access: yesAlzheimer’s & Dementia: Translational Research & Clinical Interventions, 2021
Introduction Potentially modifiable dementia risk factors include diet and physical and cognitive activity. However, there is a paucity of scales to quantify cognitive activities. To address this, we developed the Cognitive & Leisure Activity Scale (CLAS)

Closed-loop auditory stimulation method to modulate sleep slow waves and motor learning performance in rats

open access: yeseLife, 2021
Slow waves and cognitive output have been modulated in humans by phase-targeted auditory stimulation. However, to advance its technical development and further our understanding, implementation of the method in animal models is indispensable.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Association between Temperature and Reproductive Fitness of Diaphorina citri Infected with Candidatus Liberibacter Asiaticus

open access: yesAgronomy, 2022
Diaphorina citri is a serious insect pest of citrus and an insect vector of Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas) that causes Huanglongbing disease (citrus greening).

Genome‐Wide Association Study Reveals Insect Genetics and Microbial Symbiont Effects on Susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the Citrus Greening Pathogen, Candidatus Liberibacter Asiaticus

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the genetic and microbial factors influencing the susceptibility of Diaphorina citri to the citrus greening pathogen Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas), employing a microbiome Genome Wide Association Study. The research identifies a key gene encoding an MFS‐type transporter contributing to CLas infectivity and abundance in

The effect of conjugated linoleic acids on inflammation, oxidative stress, body composition and physical performance: a comprehensive review of putative molecular mechanisms

open access: yesNutrition & Metabolism, 2023
Conjugated linoleic acids (CLAs) are polyunsaturated fatty acids primarily found in dairy products and ruminant animal products such as beef, lamb, and butter.

ESCRT‐Mimetic Nanodegrader Targets STING for Anti‐Inflammatory Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A nanoplatform‐enabled targeted protein degradation strategy is presented to regulate aberrant STING signaling. STING‐ATTEC induces selective autophagic degradation of STING via formation of a STING–ATTEC–LC3 ternary complex, while the cationic FA‐LNP+ system enhances LC3 generation and targeted delivery. Together, this synergistic approach efficiently

Genetic Diversity of “Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus” Based on Four Hypervariable Genomic Regions in China

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum, 2022
Huanglongbing (HLB; greening disease), caused by Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus (CLas), is the most damaging citrus disease worldwide. The disease has spread throughout the citrus-producing regions of Guangxi, Guangdong, Fujian, and others in China. A

An unusual titanosaur axis from the Upper Cretaceous of Brazil and its significance for sauropod anatomy and systematics

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The Upper Cretaceous São José do Rio Preto Formation (Bauru Group, southeastern Brazil) has yielded a fragmentary but taxonomically diverse record of titanosaur sauropods, although elements from cervical series remain scarce. Here, we describe a nearly complete sauropod axis from the Vila Ventura Paleontological Area, representing an uncommon ...

Bacteriomic Analyses of Asian Citrus Psyllid and Citrus Samples Infected With “Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus” in Southern California and Huanglongbing Management Implications

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2021
Citrus Huanglongbing (HLB; yellow shoot disease) is associated with an unculturable α-proteobacterium “Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus” (CLas). HLB was found in southern California in 2012, and the current management strategy is based on suppression of
