Stacked Class-E Amplifier

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2020
In this article, a novel class-E amplifier topology, based on the functioning principle of the stacked converters, is presented. In this amplifier the available output electric power is determined by the addition of the electric power generated by each of the associated devices.

Class-E and inverse class-E switch-mode power amplifiers

Journal of Communications Technology and Electronics, 2012
Circuits of class-E and inverse class-E (Einv) switch-mode power amplifiers (PAs) are systemized on the basis of the principle of duality. New PA circuits (four class-Einv PA circuits and one class-E PA circuit) are proposed. The design relationships for values of reactive LC components of PA shaping circuits are given.

Class E/sup 2/ DC/DC converter with second harmonic resonant class E inverter and Class E rectifier

Proceedings of 1994 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition - ASPEC'94, 2002
Class E amplifiers have been used as inverters for highly efficient DC/AC energy conversion. ZVS-Class E inverters need an RF choke and ZCS-types have the turn-on switching loss increasing with operating frequency. Both types have nonzero power loss in the on-state resistance of the active switch. The second harmonic resonant Class E inverter has no RF

Novel class-E converters

20th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 2003
Two zero-voltage switching converters with nonresonant and resonant coupling are presented. These are high-order multiple resonant converters in which the circuit modes associated with the converter operations can have different resonant frequencies. By using proper state variable transformations, the authors derive the steady-state responses of these ...

Class-E2 DC-DC Converter With Basic Class-E Inverter and Class-E ZCS Rectifier for Capacitive Power Transfer

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems II: Express Briefs, 2020
A Class-E2 dc-dc converter with basic Class-E inverter and Class-E ZCS rectifier for capacitive power transfer (CPT) is proposed. The proposed circuit partially absorbs the secondary-side compensation resonance inductance into the equivalent inductance of the Class-E ZCS rectifier.

HF Class-E based multiplier circuits

2010 Workshop on Integrated Nonlinear Microwave and Millimeter-Wave Circuits, 2010
In this paper a multiply by five class-E based multiplier circuit with a 32 MHz input signal is described and measurement results, performed on a prototype board, are presented and compared with a classical high frequency simulation tool. Here we don't propose a novel project methodology, but illustrate all the simulation steps and measurements results

Resonant DC/DC converter with class-E inverter and class-E rectifier

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 1989
A new type of high-frequency high-efficiency resonant DC/DC converter is proposed, analyzed, and verified experimentally. It is called a class-E converter because it consists of a class-E inverter and a class-E rectifier. The class-E rectifier acts as an impedance inverter and is compatible with the class-E inverter.

Class-E microwave oscillator

Radioelectronics and Communications Systems, 2006
The class-E oscillator with the directed coupler in the feedback is studied. The similar design allows to retune the oscillator with preservation of high efficiency due to a constancy of a directed coupler coupling coefficient in band of readjustable frequencies and absence of the additional selective resonator in the feedback.

Broadband S-band class E HPA [PDF]

open access: possible, 2009
A broadband class E High Power Amplifier (HPA) is presented. This HPA is designed to operate at S-band (2.75 to 3.75 GHz). A power added efficiency of 50% is obtained for the two stage amplifier with an output power of 35.5 dBm on a chip area of 5.25 times 2.8 mm2.

Class E inverters and rectifiers

2008 4th European Conference on Circuits and Systems for Communications, 2008
Comparison of class E low dv/dt and low di/dt inverters and rectifiers, which may help in circuit choice. Analytical relationships have been derived for the normalized load resistance and other circuit parameters as functions of the transistor/diode conduction duty factor.
