Temperature variation in a class A evaporation pan
Journal of Hydrology, 1998Abstract The thermal behaviour of a class A evaporation pan has been studied by doing an outdoor experiment and by modelling the energy budget of the pan in detail. The observations showed that the temperature of the water remains more or less homogeneous throughout the daily cycle. This means that the water inside the pan is well mixed.

Automatic Class-A pan-filling system
Journal of Hydrology, 1981Abstract Recent advances in integrated circuit technology have made it possible to develop a low-cost battery-operated system to automatically fill Class-A evaporation pans from stored water. The system can be used in remote locations because the circuitry draws very little quiescent current. Thus, the system can operate for six months on a 20-A-hr.,

Automation of a Class A Evaporation Pan
Transactions of the ASAE, 1985ABSTRACT ONE of the parameters needed for use with dynamic simulation models of field crops was the amount of pan evaporation. After a review of literature and current technology, a low cost pressure transducer with a high level voltage output was selected to automate the collection of pan evaporation data.
