Rational points in a family of conics over F2(t)$\mathbb {F}_2(t)$

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, Volume 299, Issue 3, Page 496-513, March 2026.
Abstract Serre famously showed that almost all plane conics over Q$\mathbb {Q}$ have no rational point. We investigate versions of this over global function fields, focusing on a specific family of conics over F2(t)$\mathbb {F}_2(t)$ which illustrates new behavior.

Quantization of infinitesimal braidings and pre‐Cartier quasi‐bialgebras

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 113, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract In this paper, we extend Cartier's deformation theorem of braided monoidal categories admitting an infinitesimal braiding to the nonsymmetric case. The algebraic counterpart of these categories is the notion of a pre‐Cartier quasi‐bialgebra, which extends the well‐known notion of quasi‐triangular quasi‐bialgebra given by Drinfeld.

Equivariant v1,0⃗$v_{1,\vec{0}}$‐self maps

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Let G$G$ be a cyclic p$p$‐group or generalized quaternion group, X∈π0SG$X\in \pi _0 S_G$ be a virtual G$G$‐set, and V$V$ be a fixed point free complex G$G$‐representation. Under conditions depending on the sizes of G$G$, X$X$, and V$V$, we construct a self map v:ΣVC(X)(p)→C(X)(p)$v\colon \Sigma ^V C(X)_{(p)}\rightarrow C(X)_{(p)}$ on the ...

Vladimirov–Pearson operators on ζ$\zeta$‐regular ultrametric Cantor sets

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, Volume 298, Issue 12, Page 3779-3790, December 2025.
Abstract A new operator for certain types of ultrametric Cantor sets is constructed using the measure coming from the spectral triple associated with the Cantor set, as well as its zeta function. Under certain mild conditions on that measure, it is shown that it is an integral operator similar to the Vladimirov–Taibleson operator on the p$p$‐adic ...

A note on the cohomology of moduli spaces of local shtukas

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 57, Issue 12, Page 3709-3729, December 2025.
Abstract We study localized versions of spectral action of Fargues–Scholze, using methods from higher algebra. As our main motivation and application, we deduce a formula for the cohomology of moduli spaces of local shtukas under certain genericity assumptions, and discuss its relation with the Kottwitz conjecture.

The shift‐homological spectrum and parametrising kernels of rank functions

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 112, Issue 6, December 2025.
Abstract For any compactly generated triangulated category, we introduce two topological spaces, the shift spectrum and the shift‐homological spectrum. We use them to parametrise a family of thick subcategories of the compact objects, which we call radical.

Units in group rings and blocks of Klein four or dihedral defect

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 57, Issue 11, Page 3470-3489, November 2025.
Abstract We obtain restrictions on units of even order in the integral group ring ZG$\mathbb {Z}G$ of a finite group G$G$ by studying their actions on the reductions modulo 4 of lattices over the 2‐adic group ring Z2G$\mathbb {Z}_2G$. This improves the “lattice method” which considers reductions modulo primes p$p$, but is of limited use for p=2$p=2 ...

Stable‐limit partially symmetric Macdonald functions and parabolic flag Hilbert schemes

open access: yesProceedings of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 131, Issue 5, November 2025.
Abstract The modified Macdonald functions H∼μ$\widetilde{H}_{\mu }$ are fundamental objects in modern algebraic combinatorics. Haiman showed that there is a correspondence between the (C∗)2$(\mathbb {C}^{*})^2$‐fixed points Iμ$I_{\mu }$ of the Hilbert schemes Hilbn(C2)$\mathrm{Hilb}_{n}(\mathbb {C}^2)$ and the functions H∼μ$\widetilde{H}_{\mu ...

A note on local formulae for the parity of Selmer ranks

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 57, Issue 10, Page 3112-3132, October 2025.
Abstract In this note, we provide evidence for a certain ‘twisted’ version of the parity conjecture for Jacobians, introduced in prior work of Dokchitser, Green, Konstantinou and the author. To do this, we use arithmetic duality theorems for abelian varieties to study the determinant of certain endomorphisms acting on p∞$p^\infty$‐Selmer groups.

Motivic p$p$‐adic tame cohomology

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 57, Issue 10, Page 3194-3210, October 2025.
Abstract We construct a comparison functor between (A1$\mathbf {A}^1$‐local) tame motives and (□¯${\overline{\square }}$‐local) log‐étale motives over a field k$k$ of positive characteristic. This generalizes Binda–Park–Østvær's comparison for the Nisnevich topology.
