An Improved Class of Estimators Of Population Mean of Sensitive Variable Using Optional Randomized Response Technique

open access: yes, 2023
In this paper we have suggested a class of estimators of population mean of sensitive variable under optional randomized response technique as reported in Gupta et al  (2014). We have obtained the mean squared error  (MSE) of the ...

A Class of Estimators for Finite Population Mean in Double Sampling under Nonresponse Using Fractional Raw Moments

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2014
This paper presents new classes of estimators in estimating the finite population mean under double sampling in the presence of nonresponse when using information on fractional raw moments. The expressions for mean square error of the proposed classes of

Mean Estimation of a Sensitive Variable under Nonresponse Using Three-Stage RRT Model in Stratified Two-Phase Sampling

open access: yesJournal of Probability and Statistics, 2022
The present study addresses the problems of mean estimation and nonresponse under the three-stage RRT model. Auxiliary information on an attribute and variable is used to propose a generalized class of exponential ratio-type estimators.

A Class of Modified Ratio Estimators for Estimation of Population Variance [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, Statistics and Informatics, 2015
Abstract In this paper we have proposed a class of modified ratio type variance estimators for estimation of population variance of the study variable using the known parameters of the auxiliary variable. The bias and mean squared error of the proposed estimators are obtained and also derived the conditions for which the proposed ...

State estimation for a class of nonlinear systems [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Mathematics and Computer Science, 2013
We propose a new type of Proportional Integral (PI) state observer for a class of nonlinear systems in continuous time which ensures an asymptotic stable convergence of the state estimates. Approximations of nonlinearity are not necessary to obtain such results, but the functions must be, at least locally, of the Lipschitz type.

Characterization of the asymptotic distribution of semiparametric M-estimators

open access: yes, 2010
This paper develops a concrete formula for the asymptotic distribution of two-step, possibly non-smooth semiparametric M-estimators under general misspecification.

A family of estimators of population mean using multi-auxiliary variate and post-stratification

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2010
This paper suggests a family of estimators of population mean using multiauxiliary variate based on post-stratified sampling and its properties are studied under large sample approximation.

A generalized exponential-type estimator for population mean using auxiliary attributes.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2021
In this paper, we propose a generalized class of exponential type estimators for estimating the finite population mean using two auxiliary attributes under simple random sampling and stratified random sampling.

An MAP Estimation for Between-Class Variance

open access: yesCoRR, 2021
Probabilistic linear discriminant analysis (PLDA) has been widely used in open-set verification tasks, such as speaker verification. A potential issue of this model is that the training set often contains limited number of classes, which makes the estimation for the between-class variance unreliable.
