Scalar QED as a toy model for higher-order effects in classical gravitational scattering
Quantum Electrodynamics (QED) serves as a useful toy model for classical observables in gravitational two-body systems with reduced complexity due to the linearity of QED.

Engineering a Correlated Narrow‐Gap Semiconductor: Effects of Ga Substitution in EuZn2P2
ABSTRACT The effect of Ga substitution on the electronic, magnetic, and low‐energy responses of the Zintl phase EuZn2P2${\rm EuZn}_2 {\rm P}_2$ is investigated by electrical transport, electron spin resonance (ESR), and terahertz time‐domain spectroscopy (THz‐TDS). Incorporating Ga into EuZn2P2${\rm EuZn}_2 {\rm P}_2$ (EuZn1.8Ga0.2P2${\rm EuZn}_{1.8} {\

Can Partial Structures Accommodate Inconsistent Science? [PDF]
The semantic approach to scientific representation is now long established as a favourite amongst philosophers of science. One of the foremost strains of this approach—the model-theoretic approach (MTA)—is to represent scientific theories as families of ...

From Nano‐ to Picocavities: The Role of Atomistic Features
Atomistic features strongly affect the plasmonic response of Ag and Au nano‐ and picocavities. By analyzing induced charge densities, electric field maps, and localization areas, the role of atomistic morphology in controlling field confinement and enhancement is revealed, establishing a direct structure–property relation between atomic‐scale features ...

Eliminating Infinite Self-Energies From Classical Electrodynamics [PDF]
The theory of point-particles in classical electrodynamics has a well-known problem of infinite self-energy, and the same is true of quantum electrodynamics. Instead of concluding that there is no such thing as a true point-particle, it is shown here how

Classical electrodynamics in a space with spin noncommutativity of coordinates
We propose a relativistic Lorentz-invariant spin-noncommutative algebra. Using the Weyl ordering of noncommutative position operators, we find a mapping from a space of commutative functions into space of noncommutative functions.

Ionospheric Scintillation Induced by Hot Flow Anomalies via Particle Precipitation
Abstract Ionospheric scintillation disrupts trans‐ionospheric radio signals and represents significant challenges for critical communication and navigation systems. Here we document that hot flow anomalies (HFAs), transient disturbances formed near Earth's bow shock, can contribute to scintillation near the cusp.

Propagation Dynamics of Fast Electron Beam and Its Electron Cyclotron Maser Emission
Abstract Fast electron beams (FEBs) and coherent radio bursts both are very common plasma activity phenomena in the cosmos. The electron cyclotron maser (ECM) instability driven by FEBs trapped in magnetic fields can directly amplify radio wave radiations.

Local Selective Realism: shifting from Classical to Quantum Electrodynamics [PDF]
This article elaborates local selective realism in view of the shifting from classical to quantum electrodynamics. After some introductory remarks, we critically address what we call global selective realism, hence setting forth the background for ...
