Discussion Note: Conceptual Problems in Classical Electrodynamics [PDF]
I have argued that the standard ways of modeling classical particle-field interactions rely on a set of inconsistent assumptions. This claim has been criticized in (Muller forthcoming).

The classical linear oscillator in classical electrodynamics with classical zero-point radiation
In this article, we consider a classical charged particle in a one-dimensional classical linear oscillator potential interacting with classical electromagnetic zero-point radiation.

Non-Relativistic Quantum Electrodynamics and the Coulomb Interaction
This review explores the foundations of non-relativistic quantum electrodynamics (QED) and its application to atoms and molecules. It follows the traditional route of placing classical electrodynamics in an Hamiltonian framework, followed by Dirac’s ...

Gyarmati’s Variational Principle of Dissipative Processes
Like in mechanics and electrodynamics, the fundamental laws of the thermodynamics of dissipative processes can be compressed into Gyarmati’s variational principle. This variational principle both in its differential (local) and in integral (global) forms

Probability Calculations Within Stochastic Electrodynamics
Several stochastic situations in stochastic electrodynamics (SED) are analytically calculated from first principles. These situations include probability density functions, as well as correlation functions at multiple points of time and space, for the ...

Engineering a Correlated Narrow‐Gap Semiconductor: Effects of Ga Substitution in EuZn2P2
ABSTRACT The effect of Ga substitution on the electronic, magnetic, and low‐energy responses of the Zintl phase EuZn2P2${\rm EuZn}_2 {\rm P}_2$ is investigated by electrical transport, electron spin resonance (ESR), and terahertz time‐domain spectroscopy (THz‐TDS). Incorporating Ga into EuZn2P2${\rm EuZn}_2 {\rm P}_2$ (EuZn1.8Ga0.2P2${\rm EuZn}_{1.8} {\

The concept of vacuum in quantum electrodynamics [PDF]
A re-evaluation of the concept of vacuum in quantum electrodynamics is presented, focusing on the vacuum of the quantized electromagnetic field. In contrast to the ‘nothingness’ associated to the idea of classical vacuum, subtle aspects are found in ...

Starting from Coulomb gauge scheme, we can eliminate the instant Coulomb force and replace it by propagating retarded Coulomb force field, in the realm of classical electrodynamics.

Few‐Photon Fluorescence From Ultracold Bosons in an Optical Cavity
ABSTRACT Within a cavity quantum electrodynamics framework, we analyse the fluorescent spectrum of ultracold bosons in resonant and second‐harmonic generation (SHG) regimes. Two settings are considered: (i) (few) bosons in an optical lattice and (ii) a trapped two‐component dilute Bose–Einstein condensate (2BEC) within the Bogoliubov scheme.

Is Classical Electrodynamics an Inconsistent Theory? [PDF]
A critical discussion of Mathias Frisch's recent book. I discuss Frisch's argument for the inconsistency of classical electrodynamcis and the methodological morals that he draws from ...
